Scope Mount For 340 Savage

ISO a scope mount that will fit a bolt action 30-30 savage model 340. Will purchase or trade, I have A side mount for a lever action. Any info would be appreciated Tks.

Western gun parts is an option as well. I think there are only two manufuturers producing mounts for the 340, weaver and b-square.

I am going to try Lequile Country Store The part No is WEA-48401 Weaver #1 Side Mount. I will also need some 8 - 40 or 8 - 48 screws also.

Note the original stamped steel sidemounts for this gun will not handle most scopes.  There isn't enough room between the rings for the turret assembly.  I sorted through half a dozen scopes, some older, some not so old before I found one old scope whose turret assembly fit between the rings.  I think I once handled a later aluminum version of sidemount on one of these which was probably better that way.  The screws you need are 8-40.

JD in Prospect drilled/mounted the scope on my 340A.  He did a brilliant job and had the Weaver #1 side mount in stock.  I used it this past season and many times at the range.  The space between the bolt and the scope is tight, but it does not hit.
