Pictou recently discovered one unintended result from their municipal firearms bylaw which prohibits the discharge of guns in town limits. It is unintentionally preventing a mounted cowboy action shooting demo and competition at the exhibition. They intend to amend the bylaw, but it takes 3 months to go through the administrative process, too late for this year's event.
Not sure if they are planning a similar show for the exhibition in Bible Hill this summer or not? They wouldn't fall under the Truro bylaw regardless. Not sure if the Village or County has a bylaw that would prevent a shooting sport from being held? It says in the news that these sports didn't exist at the time the bylaw was created, and such events were not the object of the bylaw.
